Since 1997, Vicki has been a passionate advocate for children’s development. Growing up in Washington and raising three children of her own, Vicki finds immense joy in impacting children across various developmental stages and seeing their innate curiosity about life. She believes in the power of engaging children through activities they love, such as sports or creative tasks, to foster growth and learning.
In her practice, Vicki emphasizes the importance of parental involvement in the therapeutic process. She believes that parents are integral partners in their child’s development. By working one-on-one with both the child and caregiver, she ensures that techniques learned in sessions can be effectively practiced at home. This approach not only enhances the therapeutic outcomes but also empowers parents with strategies and resources to support their child’s progress. Vicki works alongside schools and teachers to ensure the practices are carried over into the classroom.
Vicki’s sessions are a blend of creativity and structured learning. She employs a variety of engaging activities that align with the child’s interests, making learning both fun and effective. Whether it’s designing monkey bar competitions to improve core strength and arm mobility, or using games to enhance multi-step tasking and attention span, Vicki’s methods are tailored to each child’s unique needs. She incorporates multimedia learning tools, including videos and handouts, to reinforce skills and provide a comprehensive learning experience that can be easily carried over in any environment.
By creating a nurturing and non-judgmental space, Vicki helps children reduce anxiety and gain confidence in their abilities. Her goal is to provide a safe place for children to explore and master new skills, whether in the clinic or at home, ensuring they feel supported and successful in their journey.
